Political Paranoia

FREE AD SPACE

Paranoia in a general sense is extreme distrust of others-a type of disorder amongst humans. At the tail end twentieth and early twenty first century, one party reigned supreme-the peoples democratic party [PDP], a government characterized mainly of disappearance of unaccountable public funds and more stagnant than little development garnered to become the largest economy in Africa towards the end of its tenure. Then came the all progressives party [APC] that heralded the change mantra, dethroning the reigning seat of power, a maiden feat in the democratic political history of the country. The change camaraderie brought with it quite the plethora of promises from sugarcoated mouths akin to their predecessors before them-a gargantuan of these promises unfulfilled, a pertinent reminder that in the end it’s easier said than done.
Take Russia for example whose economy was at a certain time facing impending doom, but gradually climbed to be one of the top oil producing countries with Wladimir Putin brute guidance over the course of fifteen years, the stability and nourishing economy should have been one we emulated since the advent of the oil boom but for crass greed and non altruistic aspirations of leaders.
It is no news hat we’ve nearly hit rock bottom, is it co incidence that the boko haram insurgency desire their Islamic caliphate to the north? Is it perchance that Biafra agitators are resurrecting to the east? Is it impeccable timing that the Niger delta militants of the south want sovereignty, and gone as far as printing their currency and the arewa faction of the west condemning them to go drink their oil that they will survive. Perhaps years of persistent betrayal lies, and unfulfilled mouthwatering intentions of the upper echelon has made them political paranoids and couldn’t even trust any government whatsoever even if they tried.
